Medications at School If your child needs medication at school, you must follow the Alamance Burlington School System Medication Policy. Medications that cannot be given at school, according to this policy, are medicines that can be given at home before or after school by the parent. Medications include things such as asthma inhalers, epi-pens, tylenol, etc. Medications also include things like Neosporin, calamine lotion, and medicated cough drops, sunscreen, etc.

What do I need to do? Have your doctor fill out a medication authorization form for the student. You can get this form from the office or the school nurse. Parent must also sign the form and bring it in to the office. Medication must be provided in original container by the parent to school. Students may NOT bring in or take home their own medication.

Contact the School Nurse if:
You received a referral and have any questions. Your child has a chronic illness that needs to be monitored at school. Your child will need to take medication at school. Any question you have regarding the health of your child while at SAHS.

Athletic Eligibility Must pass at least 3 out of 4 classes the semester prior to the sport season. Must attend school at least 80% of the semester prior to the sport season. Must have a current physical exam. Must maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher or student will be placed on an academic contract for 9 weeks. GO PATRIOTS!!

Driver’s Eligibility... Must pass at least 3 out of 4 classes the semester prior to an application for your permit or license. Must maintain good grades (report sent to DMV each semester). Must attend school on a regular basis (i.e. cannot drop out).

What to Expect on the First Day
Breakfast is served 7:40am-8:00am (Cafeteria) Cost: $1.50 regular (Reduced $.30) Lunch is served during 4 lunch periods (3rd block) Cost: $2.60 regular (Reduced $.40) Students can only charge up to 5 lunches! You must be in SA Prep(Homeroom) by 8:10am!! Dismissal will be at 3:15pm.
