Figure 1 Measurement of LN2 contamination. (A) Total bacteria on tryptone soy agar, 24 hours. (B) Pseudomonas aeruginosa on cetrimide agar, 24 hours. (C) Escherichia coli on McConkey agar, 24 hours. (D) Aspergillus niger on Sabouraud dextrose agar, 120 hours. In each photograph, Petri dishes 1 and 2 show the growth of the microorganisms after contamination of each dewar with ATCC pure strains. Petri dish 3 shows the growth in the watery detritus after LN2 evaporation. Petri dish 4 shows the growth in the watery detritus after UV irradiation and LN2 evaporation.
