7 Pre-Built BI Applications from Oracle Reduce Complexity
DASHBOARDS “Visible” “PLUMBING” “Under the Surface” Mappings to multiple applications and data transformation all take expertise and time Creating a dashboard is the visible part, people have been creating dashboards for years in everything from Java to Microsoft Front Page to dedicated BI tools to proprietary development environments. Dashboards are pretty, and the first thing people see, but they are just “the tip of the iceberg”. In creating true enterprise BI applications, the hard work, and the bulk of the work is underneath, especially when you start looking at multiple applications in an environment of multiple vendors on multiple technologies and multiple upgrade cycles. Oracle is uniquely positioned to handle this problem. 1st, we’ve got some great technology from the database to ETL and mappings, to visualization. 2nd, we’ve got the smartest developers in the world, and 3rd, we now own a critical mass, and the industry leaders of the enterprise transactional applications people want integrated. Who better than Oracle to provide the best insight to customers using our applications . We can do this because as an applications vendor, we understand our customers’ business, their business processes and we own the data. DELIVER BETTER INSIGHT TO CUSTOMERS’ MULTI-APPLICATION ENVIRONMENTS 9

17 Example: Analytic Workflows
Business Objectives / Issues Maximize Cash Flow Is DSO on target? Is DPO on target? Is Overdue Balances trending up? Are Payment Terms in compliance? Business Function: Receivables Role: Director, Credits & Collections Objectives: 1) Maximize Cash Flow 2) Control Risk of Receivables Portfolio Gain Insights How long is the underlying Overdue Balance pending? What is the aging of Due Balances? Analytic Workflows are built around standard paths of discovery for business issues. Here we can see that a Director of Credit / Collections in the Receivables function of Finance and Accounting is monitoring the “Maximizing Cash Flow” objective. This objective is composed of several key questions / KPIs around DSO, DPO and others. Each one of these subsequently leads to more questions about the core components of the KPI, for example DSO being on target requires Overdue Balances to be on target, Customers to be paying in line with their terms, etc. Oracle Business Analytic Applications supports these workflows by enabling these standard exploration paths directly into our applications. [mouse click] Let’s take a look at an example around one branch of the “Maximize Cash Flow” Analytic Workflow. Who are the Customers and Collectors? Drill to Due Balances by Region Drill to Overdue Invoice Detail Take Action Target collection efforts to reduce overdue balances 20

18 Example: Analytic Workflows
Business Objectives / Issues Maximize Cash Flow Is DSO on target? Is Overdue Balances trending up? Gain Insights How long is the underlying Overdue Balance pending? Drill to Detail Who are the Customers? You can see that each part of the flow is supported by prebuilt reports and navigations that allow users to easily drill to further levels of detail as required. In fact, since our products are built to capture information at the transaction line level users can easily drill from the summary information to the most atomic level of information required. Ultimately this allows the user to not only monitor progress on an objective but easily navigate the right information so that in the end any required corrective action can be proactively taken. 22 What Customers Are Achieving With Oracle BI Applications
Deployed to 800 users in under 90 days Analytics for sales-oriented contact center Live in 120 days Sales Analytics Deployed to 3,000+ users in 3 months Sales Analytics 4 months from decision to live for 1,200 users Pharma Analytics Live in 100 days, 6,500 users Sales and Marketing Analytics Two common characteristics are: 1. Faster implementation and information delivery via prebuilt content with mappings, reports, KPIs, and dashboards -- The management teams invested in the projects were able to see the results much faster than any other BI implementation 2. Pervasive use by leveraging business processes via analytic applications. -- These applications are consumed by business users to conduct their daily business. It is not for some specialists who just create reports. “I can vouch that it can be deployed as rapidly as they claim...It is a product that really delivers.” 26

31 Daily Business Intelligence
Fully Integrated Business Intelligence for the E-Business Suite Suite of pre-built, role-based BI Applications Easy-to-use, interactive, and extensible dashboards Seamless integration with E-Business Suite Single source of truth (no upload to data warehouse) Seamless drilldown to transaction tables Easy to deploy No separate ETL tool to learn and maintain Very low TCO Oracle has responded customer requirements – Oracle Daily Business Intelligence (DBI) was engineered and created with the sole intention of arming E-Business Suite users with the information they needed. This is a unique product in the Analytical Application marketplace that has typically ‘bolted on’ a heterogeneous set of products providing somewhat similar benefits but a very high risk and cost. There have been five principles that have guided the rapid growth of DBI: Pre-built, role-based content for broad and deep analysis Easy-to-use, interactive, and actionable dashboards Cross-functional and drill-down analytics Seamless integration with E-Business Suite applications Extensible and customizable framework 35

32 Oracle Daily Business Intelligence (DBI) Easy-To-Use Dashboards Within E-Business Suite
Role Based Dashboards Leverages EBS Infrastructure and Materialized Views No Data Movement Required Drill Directly to Transactions from Summaries Implements in Days Fastest Path to Information from EBS Part of EBS “Rapid Install” No Training Required Embedded Dashboards provide a wealth of user functionality while maintaining ease of use. dashboards are rendered in pure HTML so that they can be accessed over the web and require no specialized user training. Dashboards have built-in time summarization options from Calendar Week, Month etc to Rolling periods to Fiscal Periods depending on the analytical subject area. Furthermore, these time periods can be compared to Prior periods, years or even a budget. All dashboards offer a variety of visualization options including KPIs, Graphs, Tables and Guiding Links. Users can even export to Excel or PDF as well as collaborate on information using , Web Conferencing and Real Time Chat. In addition, the Delegation feature allows Managers and Executives to ‘delegate’ roles to subordinates for a limited amount of time. Users can directly drill through from a DBI dashboard to a Report to further explore data. DBI reports allow users to pivot and view the data across different dimensions and drill down a hierarchy. In addition, Users can save their queries and parameter filters to execute it on a periodic basis. DBI also allows users to print, and Export the report. Embedded Dashboards provide a Drill down and through model that allows users to view aggregated data to understand trends, investigate anomalies, exceptions or problems by drilling down to lower levels in a hierarchy that is part of a multidimensional query and finally drill through to the underlying transactional system to resolve potential issues or facilitate solutions to existing problems. 36
