“White Flag” by Bishop Briggs
A white flag symbolizes surrender, which to me, means succumbing to or giving up on something, someone, or yourself. This song “White Flag” by Bishop Briggs, to me, means that even though people are trying to tear the speaker in the song down, she uses it as a motivator to keep going. “Oh, won’t wave my white flag, no, This time I won’t let go, I’d rather die, Than give up the fight”- Bishop Briggs The song could also symbolize a break up, loss, or problem and how there are troubles that will get in the way of life, but to push through. I relate to this song in many ways because life comes at you hard and throws things at you that you feel at the moment you may not be able to overcome; however, I was raised where you keep on going because there is no giving up in this world. There is only trying hard, or trying harder for whatever it is in life that you need.

“Imagine” by John Lennon
This is one of the most amazing songs I have ever heard in my life and it is extremely difficult to choose just one lyric to relate to as I follow this song as a type of philosophy. I feel like if people actually abided by the lyrics of this song, we could have the potential to actually live a life free of prejudice. This song illustrates a life free of war, prejudice, and so many other things that it is difficult to sum it up with one lyric. Try to imagine what life would be like with no Heaven, no religion, etc. and if you think about it, it could be a lot better.

“Imagine” by John Lennon
This song relates to me because these are the words I live by daily and the way that I see the world/people. I see life as fun, not a stressful burden with hard times. I enjoy life. This song reminds me to just relax and let things be the way they are. It helps me realize that there are things beyond your control and you roll with it. People say that I see the world in a weird way, but I think the way I see the world is unique. People should change the way they see things because there is beauty in the world.

“Where is the Love?” by The Black Eyed Peas
“What's wrong with the world, mama People livin' like they ain't got no mamas’ I think the whole world addicted to the drama Only attracted to things that'll bring you trauma” “But if you only have love for your own race Then you only leave space to discriminate And to discriminate only generates hate And when you hate then you're bound to get irate, yeah” I relate to this song because I love the fact that someone else has this question and response to the world as a whole. These are general statements in the song, but they ring so true to life that if people actually listened and cared, they would change their outlook of the world. It is frustrating that in this day and age we still have discrimination and prejudice. It only causes animosity in an already messed up world we live in. Just love each other, plain and simple. It is easier to love than to hate. It is as easy as that and, yet, people are still so angry and vengeful that you have to ask yourself, where is the love? Why not just love one another? What is the harm in loving?
