1. DSCC association
Discipline Specific Curricula Committees (1) One, or more, Discipline Specific Curricula Committees (DSCC) shall be created. These committees will assist in coordinating curricula proposals generated by the degree programs specified in their charters. (2) The Provost shall propose, with appropriate academic rationale and suggested structure that Discipline Specific Curriculum Committees (DSCC) be formed. The Provost forwards the proposals with his/her recommendations, and the suggested constituencies from which the committee members will be drawn, to the Faculty Senate for approval. (a) Every DSCC shall be identified by a discipline name. (b) Every degree program shall be associated with one, and only one, DSCC. This association will be stated in the charter of each DSCC, and may be altered only with the approval of the Provost and the Faculty Senate. (c) Each DSCC program leader shall serve a one year term, and be elected from, and by, its members. The DSCC program leader shall be an ex-officio, voting, member of the Campus Curricula Committee.

2. Proposal for approval by Faculty senate: Associate Minor in Military Science with DSCC for the Social Sciences
Pursuant to Section D.6.f(2) of the S&T Faculty Bylaws, I hereby submit to Faculty Senate my proposal that the Minor in Military Science be associated with the Discipline Specific Curricula Committee (DSCC) for the Social Sciences. Associating this minor with a DSCC was overlooked during the original formation of the DSCCs, which is preventing Military Science from updating this minor as the bylaws require Military Science to submit curricula forms regarding this minor to the associated DSCC. Regarding the Academic Rationale, Military Science is not a good fit for the Science disciplines nor the Engineering disciplines nor the Arts and Humanities disciplines, while it seems a good fit for the Social Science disciplines; a brief review of information available via the internet regarding other institutions revealed numerous instances of associating Military Science with Social Sciences.
