Emigration? Internal Migration? Immigration? In this course we will be studying the reason for people moving within Scotland (internal migration), leaving Scotland (emigration) and others coming to Scotland (immigration)

7 INTERNAL MIGRATION? Migration is the movement of people within a country. Normally it is associated with the movement of people from the countryside to the towns. In Scotland ( ) shifts in population were usually from areas of deprivation to areas which offered employment

8 EMIGRATION & IMMIGRATION?
Emigration is the movement of people from one country to another In 19th-century Scotland, migration AND emigration were the result of both force and persuasion. Individuals wanted a better life foR themselves & their families. It is the result of PUSH and PULL factors
