Port closed Quartering Act- colonists had to provide soldiers with housing and food Legislatures disbanded (local elected governments) “martial law”- British military is in charge Some trials sent to Britain

3 Effects of Intolerable Acts:
1st Continental Congress meets All 13 colonies represented in Philadelphia Express support for Boston, Massachusetts Say colonists will fight back if force is used Militias begin training Agree to meet again in May 1775

April British on the way to look for weapons in Concord 70 minutemen in Lexington organize…. 8 killed… On retreat to Boston, dozens of British killed as attack entire march
