Points of reference Good care: people are key, determined by caregiver’s ability to establish and maintain a relationship with the patient Core problem care of people with dementia: lack of awareness caregiver of the patient’s different perception of reality (knowledge and understanding) Result: misunderstanding and frustration, difficulty to communicate and establishing and maintaining the necessary relationship Aim: to bridge the gap between the real world and the patients perception of reality Introduction of the Alzheimer Experience and its education programmes in May 2011
