2 What is Respect ? A feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements. Respect is a feeling of admiration or deference toward a person, child, non-human animal, group, ideal, or indeed almost any entity or concept, as well as specific actions and conduct representative of that esteem. Respect can be a specific feeling of regard for the actual qualities of the one respected (e.g., "I have great respect for her judgment"). It can also be conduct in accord with a specific ethic of respect. Some people may earn the respect of individuals by assisting others or by playing important social roles. In many cultures, individuals are considered to be worthy of respect until they prove otherwise. Courtesies that show respect include simple words and phrases like "thank you" in the West, simple physical gestures like a slight bow in the East, a smile, or direct eye contact, or a simple handshake

3 What is listening? If you'd like to sharpen your skills, here's how to be a good listener: Remove or avoid distractions. Watch for non-verbal communication and tone of voice. Be the mirror. Empathize, sympathize, and show interest. Practice silence. Ask probing questions. Don't interrupt or change the subject. Think before responding.

4 What is Appreciation? Appreciation means where u are thankful for everything you get and what people do for you. At north walney primary school we are thankful for everything our peers and teachers do for us.
