Discuss Readings 5:30 - 6:00 Identify the various “isms” at play in “Recitatif.” Clarify any terms you need to from S&D What “labels” did you apply to the different characters (such as White, Black, disabled, poor, religious, etc.) What in the text lead you to apply those labels to those characters? How did those labels affect your ability to identify with those characters? What contributed to Twyla’s and Roberta’s raced, classed, or gendered identity?
