SITUATION
Western Sydney Primary Health Network and Ocean Informatics implemented the LinkedEHR Care Planning system with the aim of improving care for chronic conditions. The patients’ health records needed to be extracted and then deployed into an environment that the patients themselves, their care team, allied health, and hospital clinicians could all share, access, and update.

SOLUTION
Microsoft Azure’s Australian implementation enabled Ocean to offer a hosted solution for health care data in Western Sydney. Microsoft SQL Database and Azure’s high availability allowed Ocean to build a 24/7 production system on IaaS. Ocean used Microsoft Internet Information Services, Visual Studio Team Foundation Server online, and Microsoft Test Manager online to develop the platform. The security and access controls in Azure ensure the clients’ health data is well-protected but accessible.
