Renewable Resources A renewable resource is a resource which can be used repeatedly because it is replaced naturally. Examples: Oxygen Fresh water Solar energy Trees/plants/crops

Nonrenewable Resources
Nonrenewable resources cannot be replaced by natural means in an average human lifetime. Examples: Oil Natural gas Coal

Deforestation Deforestation is the clearing/removal of a forest or large group of trees where the land is later converted to a non-forest use. Reasons for deforestation: Farms Ranches Urban use

Effects of Deforestation
Deforestation can have a negative impact on the environment. Approximately 80% of Earth’s land animals live in forest areas. Loss of habitat due to deforestation is a major cause of the decrease in biodiversity.
