We Asked, You Said
3
We asked: How much do you agree/disagree that classes are relevant?
You said: You rated relevance at 5.6 out of 10. We say: We are working on connecting our lessons more with real life situations so they are more meaningful to you.

We asked: Do you have someone at school who consistently provides
We asked: Do you have someone at school who consistently provides encouragement and can be turned to for advice? You said: You rated advocacy at school at 2.5 out of 10. We say: We can do better. Everyone should feel as though they have an advocate at this school. If you have ideas on how this can happen, talk to your Year Adviser.
5
We asked: Have you been the victim of bullying in the past 4 weeks?
You said: 26% of students reported having been bullied in the previous 4 weeks. We say: Bullying is not accepted at our school. Report incidents of bullying and if you see it happening, don’t remain silent.
6
We asked: How much you agree or disagree that learning time is effective?
You said: You rated our school at 7 out of 10. We say: Thank you! Apparently that’s a pretty good rating, but during School Development Days and through other professional learning we will be focusing on how we can be more explicit in our teaching to make it even better.
7
We asked: Tell us about classroom behaviour at our school.
You said: You rated our school above the state norm on the disciplinary climate! We say: We will continue to set clear rules and high expectations for behaviour, and hope you’ll get on board with these so everyone can learn!
8
We asked: How frequently you had been the victim of different forms of bullying.
You said: Cyber-bullying is a problem being experienced, especially in the senior year groups. We say: Everyone needs to learn how to use social media safely. Your teachers can now advise you on how to apply settings on your devices that will protect you from cyber-bullying. Bullying is NOT OK at this school.
