2 The plateau region is in present-day Idaho.

3 The Plateau Indians ate a lot of gathered food like berries.
They also hunted and some planted. Many tools in the plateau region were made from stone.

4 The Nez Perce Tribe The Nez Perce lived in lodges made from wood/mud or huts. They lived by the season and not the month since they planted a lot of their food. Nez Perce hunted meat and used the hide for clothes. A lot of feathers were used for headdresses and headbands.

5 The Nez Perce believed in spirits called weyekins.
Young men around age 12 were sent out into the wilderness to get a spiritual message from their weyekins.
