3. STARTER
There is a mystery to solve. In October 2005, Stan Bowden, a long distance lorry driver ran over a body as he drove into a motorway service station. Whose body was it and why was it there?

4. Main Task
Work with a partner to solve the mystery. Using Activity sheet 5 sort through the pieces of evidence and try to find links between them. You can rearrange the statements to help you reconstruct the story.

5. Extension Task
Using a blank World Map – find the UK and Vietnam. One part of the mystery that was never solved was Ky’s route from Vietnam to the UK. Plot a possible overland route he could have taken, labelling the countries he would have travelled through.

6. Plenary
What are the possible solutions to the mystery? What makes people undertake such long and dangerous journeys? What does it tell us about Vietnam?
