Strategies for handling social loafers:
Change communication pattern with the social loafer. One team member asks the slacker directly for his/her input and help Whole group confronts the slacker directly Talk to a person in authority

Forming Stage: Primary Tension: The nervousness and jitters of getting to know a new group. Strategy: Be positive, be polite. Keep it light and friendly. Find things in common.

Storming: Secondary Tension: Team members jockey for positions and roles. Disagreements about team goals. Team members disagree on test questions (constructive) Strategies: Be honest but be respectful; listen. No personal attacks.
