How can I find out if a Spreadsheet actually works, and that it doesn’t contain any mistakes?

3. Test plan
Suggest ways in which they can test that a spreadsheet actually works…. Examples: test data, deliberate input errors, checking results with a pocket calculator involving a Test Buddy.

develop a given spreadsheet
test the developed spreadsheet

6. Checking proposed spreadsheet developments
work in pairs as Test Buddies on your spreadsheet development and action plans / task lists that you produced for homework (5 minutes each).
Each student should carefully consider any suggestions made by their Test Buddy.
Students should then consider together how best to test their modified spreadsheets and draw up a test plan

We will be creating our spreadsheet models using the skills we just looked at. You need to make sure that you are familiar with these as they will help you gain higher marks in the real CA.

16. Homework
Plan at least two models. Start by stating your target, what you want to achieve (e.g. highest possible profit / donation, best balance between number of bags and profit / donation). Then identify which variable(s) you want to change and how. Note down your reasons for the changes.
