Liberation from Heung Nam
True Father’s Liberation from the Prison Camp
2
The War While father was in the prison, there were rumors that a war was going to happen. The guards of the prison seemed very nervous.
3
One of the Disciples True Father had disciples in prison.
One of his disciples told True Father that he might be able to work in another part of camp that had much easier work. He asked Father if he should go there. True Father said no. The man continued thinking about it and he had worked really hard and he was tired, so when he could go to the easier camp, he left.
4
A second disciple also had the chance to go to the other easier prison camp. He asked True Father if he should go. True Father told him alright but if anything suspicious happened, he had to come back immediately.
5
The Korean war begins… In June of 1950, the Korean war began when the North Koreans attacked South Korea. The guards were scared and decided that they would shoot all the prisoners so they wouldn’t be able to escape. They started with the outside camps. The second man became suspicious and came back to the main camp, while no one ever heard from the first man again.
6
The Bombing The US began to bomb Heung Nam and the guards would go in the bomb shelters while the prisoners were left in the open. True Father received a message from God that the bombs would not fall where Father was. Father told the prisoners that they should stay together (he did not tell them about the message) and when they did, a bomb exploded near them. The people who were near True Father survived.
7
The guards continued to shoot people
The guards continued to shoot people. True Father only had a few hours to live, because his turn would soon come next. However, the guards grew tired and decided to rest a little and continue in the morning. However, that night, the Heung Nam bombings grew intense. The bombs began to fall like rain.

True Father says, “The bombing was so intense that it seemed all of Heungnam had been turned into a sea of fire. The high walls around the prison began to fall, and the guards ran for their lives. Finally the gate of the prison that had kept us in that place opened. At around 2 o’clock in the morning on the next day, I walked calmly out of Heungnam Prison with dignity.” -As a Peace Loving Global Citizen

True Father was set free by the United Nation forces on October 14, 1950.
He had been imprisoned for 2 years and 8 months in Heungnam and Pyongyang. He later walked ten days to Pyongyang and stayed there to look for his disciples.

True Father had won the victory of Love
True Father had won the victory of Love. Satan was accomplishing a lot, but because Father had so much love in his heart, he could not be defeated by Satan.
11
Questions Why couldn’t Satan kill Father?
How can we become people who are victorious in love? How do you think God felt about Father’s victory?
