What is wrong with the world
What is wrong with the world? Once we understand the full extent of our sin, then we begin to understand the strength of Christ’s grace in our lives.

1 Timothy 1:12–17 1. The grace of Christ gives us strength to serve. 2. The grace of Christ gives us strength to witness. 3. The grace of Christ gives us strength to worship.

1 Timothy 1 12 I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service, [13] even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent aggressor. Yet I was shown mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief; [14] and the grace of our Lord was more than abundant, with the faith and love which are found in Christ Jesus.

1 Timothy 1 15 It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost of all. 16 Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost, Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life.

“I too was convinced that I ought to do all that was possible to oppose the name of Jesus of Nazareth. And that is just what I did in Jerusalem. On the authority of the chief priests I put many of the saints in prison, and when they were put to death, I cast my vote against them. Many a time I went from one synagogue to another to have them punished, and I tried to force them to blaspheme. In my obsession against them, I even went to foreign cities to persecute them.” Acts 26:9–11

1 Timothy 1 17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

Jesus desires to strengthen me and make me faithful to serve his church. Even though my sin remains great, his grace, love, and mercy are far greater. I must believe this truth: that Christ came to save sinners like me so that other sinners might know the mercy and grace of God for themselves. If I can receive forgiveness and the gift of eternal life, anyone can. Therefore, I will worship and declare the glory of Christ, my eternal King and immortal God who deserves all my honor and praise.
