Key terms- Five nations, Cherokee Nation v. Georgia (1831), Worcester v. Georgia, Trail of tears, Indian Removal Act, Battle of Horseshoe Summary In 1830 the Indian removal Act was passed As a result the Cherokee Indians went to the supreme court which caused the Cherokee Nation vs. Georgia and later the Worchester vs. Georgia case. Jackson violated these court cases and did not defend the constitution. Was he a champion of the common man? The south approved of the move of native americans from georgia. The North saw it as unconstitutional and inhuman The West didn't think of Jackson as a hero because he moved natives onto western land. The common man in this case are the Native Americans so he was against the common Sectionalism- North Views South Views, West Views Federal power v. State power - Andrew Jackson supported the states not the Supreme Court
