Passed by the United States Congress in 1976 On June , President Obama signed the Frank. R Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act which updated the TCSA The TCSA is a national act

The EPA administers and implements an Agency’s national compliance for the TSCA. The EPA monitors regulated operations in major program areas such as new and existing chemicals, PCB’s, asbestos, lead based paints, and formaldehydes. The TCSA requires reporting, record-keeping, testing requirements, and restrictions relating to chemical substances and mixtures. The TCSA specifically focuses on the disposal of chemicals such as PCB’s, asbestos, radon, and lead based paint. Chemicals must be tested by manufacturers when there is a risk involved.
