About me This is my thirteenth year teaching 5th grade Math or Science or 6th grade Math/ Science in the Tomball District. I am a graduate of SHSU. I am married, mother of four grown married daughters, and we are blessed with six grandchildren.

District Grading Guidelines
> B > C > D > 69 & below F > Daily Work/Quizzes 40% > Major Grades 60% > LATE WORK will receive point deductions HOMEWORK MAY BE TAKEN AS A GRADE Student’s grades can be found in the “Home Access Center” on the TISD website Log in information can be obtained through registrar-Karen Burns

Communication > If a grade is circled on a science paper in the
> Wednesday Folders are sent home weekly and will contain progress/conduct reports, information from TIS/TISD, and graded papers. > If a grade is circled on a science paper in the folder, that assignment was taken as a grade.

Communication Student Planners
Are used to help students stay organized and includes information about what is going on in class and homework. If students lose their planner, it is their responsibility to purchase another from a store. There are not extra planners available. Edlio teacher page

Conduct and Work Study Contact and Work Study are combined to be given as one final conduct grade each nine weeks. EACH CLASS is given a conduct grade based on this scale per week: 0-1 marks E 2 marks S 3 marks N 4 marks U

Rewards!! Rewards are given to students for showing good character and following school procedures! Cougar Bucks – to be spent on Market Days and coupons to use in class Fun Friday

How Can You Help from Home?
Review your child’s science notebook Quiz them about the topics we learned in class Review the unit vocabulary with your child Encourage your child to have a friend that they can buddy up with to do homework.

Homework > Homework - Monday-Thursday
> Students should work on homework for a maximum of 30 minutes. > Students must make an attempt > Parents are encouraged to help with homework (students' 90% of the work, parents' 10%)

TutoTutoringring Tutoring is available before school at 7am. If your child is absent or did not understand a homework assignment this is a terrific time for them to get caught up.
