4. Initiatives to Save Language
Many local initiatives such as:
-Teaching FN Language in schools
-Teaching FN Language on reserves
-Creating dictionaries for FN Languages
-Creating books and learning resources written in FN languages
-Developing computer keyboards  Dave Elliot, custodian that created an alphabet for students
-created the Sencoein Alphabet
-recording songs and stories in FN languages

5. Language Revitalization program
Cowichan Tribes Language Project:
Creation of a Cowichan Dictionary
Six schools in the school district offer language programs
Community Language sessions (free)
Malaspina University College offers Language courses
Traditional language is now being used in local churches
 results: before the program started only 1 person could read and write the language – now there are 12
