Response to Intervention (RTI)
RTI is a school wide initiative that allows for the utilization of resources for students in need of academic and/or behavior support.

RTI Team Composition Site-Based Administrators Guidance Counselor
General Education Teacher Specialists (Literacy Coach) School Psychologist Social Worker ESE Specialist

Tier 1 All students At least 80% of the population are successful at this Tier
5
Tier 2 Some students Approximately 15% of the population requires additional instruction and/or behavior support

Tier 3 Few students Approximately 5% of the student population requires additional support. Intensive, individualized instruction based on student needs

Documentation of parental involvement & communication must be maintained. This is through parent participation in the RTI meeting, parent conference, telephone call, messages, notes home, or any other mode of communication. Rule 6A (1)(a).F.A.C.

Schools are required to: -Implement evidence-based interventions -Develop interventions using the problem-solving process -Connect interventions to student performance data -Implement those interventions & monitor effectiveness Rule 6A (1)(e)

Graphing: -Graphing student responses to intervention is an effective way to present raw data to parents, students, and educational professionals

In Conclusion: -Lake County Schools are committed to providing high quality instruction and support to the students academically and behaviorally. -The implementation of a Multi-Tier system of support is a data-driven process that provides assistance to students, families, and to teachers seeking positive solutions. -The primary purpose of this system is to provide support to teachers and parents by generating effective research -based academic and behavior strategies for small groups or individually targeted students.
