Interesting Facts 1. Was offered the Presidency of the State of Israel in 1952, which he declined. 2. Einstein did not speak until the age of three. 3. The parietal lobe in Einstein’s brain was 15% larger than that of an average brain. 4. Galileo Galilei was Einstein’s favorite scientist. 5. Despite his many gifts and popularity, Einstein dwelled much in intellectual solitude throughout his life.

Accomplishments/Achievements
After World War II, Einstein was a leading figure in the World Government Movement, which recognized the notion of a common political authority for all of humanity. Einstein realized the inadequacies of Newtonian mechanics. His special theory of relativity stemmed from an attempt to reconcile the laws of mechanics with the laws of the electromagnetic field. He observations on thermal properties of light with a low radiation density laid the foundation of the photon theory of light. 1916 he published his paper on his most famous work, the general theory of relativity which explains that what we perceive as the force of gravity in fact arises from the curvature of space and time. His development of the quantum theory of a monatomic gas contributed to statistical mechanics. Accomplished valuable work in connection with atomic transition probabilities and relativistic cosmology. 8. Received honorary doctorate degrees in science, medicine and philosophy from many European and American universities.

Quote & Reflection Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world. – Albert Einstein Reflection: Through this project I learned that Albert Einstein was a great historical figure with many accomplishments and that his most famous accomplishment was the theory of relativity (E=MC2).
