More Military Action Main Ideas
Benedict Arnold was a Patriot who fought the British at Fort Ticonderoga. He later became a traitor by selling military information to Britain. On June 16, 1775, the American militia set up posts on Bunker Hill and Breed’s Hill and held ground, causing heavy British casualties, until running out of gunpowder and withdrawing. Some colonists were Loyalists, meaning they sided with Britain. Other colonists were Patriots, meaning they supported American independence.
