3. LEVEL 3 WRITING (Professional)
Can write effective formal and informal correspondence and documents on practical, social, and professional topics. Can write about special fields of competence with considerable ease. Can use the written language for essay-length argumentation, analysis, hypothesis, and extensive explanation, narration, and description. Can convey abstract concepts when writing about complex topics (which may include economics, culture, science, and technology) as well as his/her professional field. Although techniques used to organise extended texts may seem somewhat foreign to native readers, the correct meaning is conveyed. The relationship and development of ideas are clear, and major points are coherently ordered to fit the purpose of the text. Transitions are usually successful. Control of structure, vocabulary, spelling, and punctuation is adequate to convey the message accurately. Errors are occasional, do not interfere with comprehension, and rarely disturb the native reader. While writing style may be non-native, it is appropriate for the occasion. When it is necessary for a document to meet full native expectations, some editing will be required.

7. “This topic can bring up lots more questions but I think that is more important to find fast and solid solutions right now instead of discussing about it too long, because in my opinion the main effort should belong to our government, so they should find suitable solutions in close relations with our society and economy.”

8. Synonyms, i.e. words that have the same basic meaning, do not always have the same connotation. For example, the words stingy and frugal both mean “careful with money”. However, calling someone stingy is an insult, while calling someone frugal can be regarded as a compliment. Similarly, a person would rather be slender than skinny, or forthright rather than tactless. Therefore, one should be careful in choosing words since many so-called synonyms are not truly synonymous.

Terror in missions of UN and NATO forces followed by attacks directly into the heart of Europe, Paris, Bruxelles, Munich, Berlin, Barcelona, natural disasters caused by humans like Fukushima, the economic crisis starting with the collapse of Lehman Brothers and the current topic of migration lead to the question, if a human being needed fear to work in meaning of survive and develop?

10. Better:
In the past two decades, especially, the concept of fear has grown out of all proportion. Incidents such as the more recent terrorist attacks and natural disasters, or phenomena like migration and economic struggle, have struck great fear into many people’s hearts. However, it seems that we need such feelings of anxiety for a number of reasons in order to survive or even thrive, as complacency has been the downfall of many a society.
