1 SeeSaw in the Classroom
Trey Blount

2 What is SeeSaw? SeeSaw is something teachers can use to communicate with students and parents to make the class better. There are many tools on it that teachers can use to make their work easier and better for the students.

3 Tools in SeeSaw Send messages to parents
Post homework at the beginning of the week Students can use website to review for assessments Students can take notes from class

4 Messaging Families Messages can be sent to families to tell them about what their students are working on in class and how they can help them prepare and study before class each day. Families will also be happy to feel involved in their student’s life in and outside of the classroom.

5 Homework on SeeSaw Teachers can post homework on SeeSaw so they don’t have to worry about keeping students updated every single day. When students have their homework for the week ahead of time, they can work on it at their own leisure.

6 Review for tests Students can use the “sketch your goals” tool at the beginning of the unit so the teacher will know what each student hopes to accomplish by test time. If the teacher knows what her students are trying to accomplish, she can help them reach their goals.

7 Notes on SeeSaw Students can use SeeSaw to take notes during class lectures. Using this feature will ensure that students are actively listening during class and that they will have something to look back to when preparing for the test.

8 Learning Objectives of Design Project
Have a student be able to set up a SeeSaw account. Have a student successfully submit a homework assignment on SeeSaw. Have a student use the blog feature of SeeSaw and post something to the blog.

9 SeeSaw Account Make a student account on SeeSaw and make sure to join the right class. If you join the right class, you will be able to see all of the weekly updates and you will be able to post on the class blog.

10 How should I submit an assignment on SeeSaw?
After a student posts their homework responses to the journal, they can use the “skills” tool which will help them see if they are reaching their goals or not. Students can make sure that they are progressing towards their learning goals by using this tool. Teachers will also be able to see if students are improving.

11 Blogging with SeeSaw When teachers use the blog part of SeeSaw, they can gain a wide perspective of how much or little students understand about what they have done in class. Blogging gives students an opportunity to voice their opinion and connect with their classmates.
