3 Zio/Zio Plus TR70 Series Models
Only four models do it all: TR71, TR71-H, TR75, TR75-H TR70/TR70-H have been replaced by TR71/TR71-H models New Features Zio TR70 Zio TR71 Zio Plus TR75 Scheduling x Parameter Memory (bytes)  1K 2K 4.9K Multiple Zios on Sylk X* Enumerated Values Setpoint Limits as NVs – linking now possible System and Fan command as NVs Password protection Firmware version/model visible on display 0.5 and 5 value increments "-" and "/" characters in parameter names There are a total of six models in the TR70 Series that have been released. The TR70 and TR70-H are no longer available and were replaced in early 2012 by the Zio TR71. So when reviewing your options for new Zio’s you only have four models to consider: the TR71 and TR75 and the TR71-H and TR75-H with an onboard humidity sensor. As shown in this table, there are some differences between the TR70 and the TR71. The TR71 provides two times the memory of the TR70 and most of the other features offered by the TR75. Up to four TR71 and TR75s, in any combination, can be installed on a single Sylk bus. However, only 1 model TR70 is allowed on any bus. And if a TR70 is installed on the sylk bus, you are limited to a total of three Zios on the Sylk bus. The TR75 offers not only more memory than the TR71, but also allows you to control network scheduling and set Spyder’s time from the Zio. Note other enhancements are shared by the TR71 and TR75 but are not available in the Tr70, such as enumerated values with labels, setpoint limits as network variables, system and fan commands as network variables, password protection, firmware version and model number viewable at Zio, smaller value increment settings for parameters, and the ability to use an underscore (which creates a space) and forward slash in parameter names. See the Zio / Zio Plus Operating Guide (form number ) for information on WEBs-AX Workbench, Spyder firmware, and Spyder Tool versions required for full functionality of the TR71 and TR75. xOnly 1 TR70 can be installed on any given sylk bus, and the address must be set to 1. Up to 4 TR71s and/or TR75s can be installed on any given sylk bus in any combination. If a TR70 resides on the bus, then the maximum number of Zios on the bus is 3.

4 Tools supported: 2.0.8 (not 2.0.5) 3.x, 4.x, 5.x
Compatibility The new Zio TR71 and Zio Plus TR75 have functionality that is only available when using the new Spyder tool, and the new Spyder tool can only be used with the latest firmware versions of Spyder. See the chart below, and view the training presentation on the Spyder Re-Flash Tool for more info. The new Zio TR71 and Zio Plus TR75 have functionality that is only available when using the new Spyder tool (>5.19.6) and Spyders with the latest firmware. The chart on this page summarizes the compatibility. View the Spyder Re-Flash Tool Training for more information on the Re-Flash tool. Tools supported: (not 2.0.5) 3.x, 4.x, 5.x

5 Zio Address Dial & Wire Terminals
Sylk Bus Address Dial TR70 must be set to 1, only 1 TR70 per bus TR71/TR75 set between 0 and 9 Each wall module on the same Sylk bus must have a unique address. Four Terminals 1 and 2 for network jack (optional) 3 and 4 for Sylk Bus (to controller S-bus terminals) Each Zio has a Sylk bus address dial on the back. For TR70 models the wall module bus address must be set to 1. Using bus addresses other than 1 may not work correctly on TR70s. For TR71 or TR75 models, set the address from 0 to 9. A setting of 0 on Zio is equal to 10 in the Configuration Wizard, so if the Zio is set to 0, set the address to 10 in the Configuration Wizard. The address must be different for each device on the same Sylk bus. Use a thin blade screwdriver to turn the dial arrow. The address set on the wall module must match the address in the Configuration Wizard. There are four terminals on the Zio. Two are for the network jack (if you choose to use them) and two are for the S-Bus connection back to the controller. Neither of these is polarity sensitive. Use gauge wire for connection. Twisted pair wire is recommended for runs over 100 ft. The Zio can be wired up to 200 ft from the controller.

6 Zio Wiring Polarity insensitive
22 AWG, unshielded, twisted pair, solid wire recommended (smaller wire makes it easier to land two wires into one terminal). 18-24 AWG allowed depending on application 200 ft max on Sylk bus Twisted pair recommended for wire runs longer than 100 ft Can use home run or daisy chain wiring for multiple Zios. If wire size is too thick for two wires in the terminal, use pigtails as shown. The network and Sylk bus wiring are polarity insensitive. Wall module wiring can be sized from 18 to 24 AWG, depending on the application. For multiple Zios on the same Sylk bus, 22 or 24 gauge wire is recommended, to make it easier to land two wires into the terminal. You can also pigtail wires as shown in the above diagram if working with larger wires and two wires don’t fit into the terminal. For S-BUS wiring, the Zio may be mounted up to 200 ft. (61 meters) from the programmable controller. If multiple Zios are installed, the total distance from the controller to the last Zio should not exceed 200 ft. Twisted pair wire is recommended for wire runs longer than 100 ft. (30.5 meters). Either home run or daisy chain wiring can be used for multiple Zios on the same Sylk bus.

7 Configuring Zio Zio is configured with S-bus Wall Module Configuration Wizard This wizard is in the s-bus built-in in the Spyder Tool Download the latest version of the Spyder Tool from the Buildings Forum All configuration of the Zio Wall Module is done in the WEBs-AX Workbench within the Spyder Tool using the S-Bus Wall Module Configuration Wizard. This can be downloaded from the Honeywell Buildings Forum. Download the latest version of the Spyder Tool for Lon, for BACnet or both Lon & BACnet from the Honeywell Buildings Forum in the Spyder LON or Spyder BACnet section of the Forum Install the Spyder Tool using the instructions included with the Spyder Tool download.

8 Add a Network and a Spyder
Add the network for the Spyder, whether LON or BACnet, to the Station in the WEBs-AX Workbench. Open the honeywellSpyderTool palette, then add the desired Spyder type, either LON or BACnet, to the network.

9 Add a Wall Module to Spyder
Add the Spyder to the network, then right click on the Spyder and click engineering mode to access the wire sheet. Once you have added a Spyder in the Workbench, click on the Spyder then open Engineering Mode for Spyder

10 SBusWallModule To Spyder Control Program
You can pull up an existing application and replace the existing wall module block with the new S-BusWallModule built in. You will need to recreate the parameters and links. The S-Bus Wall Module function block can be dropped into existing applications to replace the Conventional Wall Module block. Up to four TR71/TR75 devices per Spyder or up to three if one of the devices on the Sylk bus is a TR70.

11 SBus WM Block imbedded in VAV App
Example of a S-BusWallModule imbedded in a VAV app Here is an example of the S-Bus Wall Module Tool embedded in a VAV Application. When making links from existing blocks to the wall module function block input slots, there is no need to break the existing links from these existing blocks. The tool allows for multiple output connections. When connecting to slots on function blocks which lie on different wire sheets, remember that you can save time by using the Link Mark method, a standard WEBs-AX Workbench linking mechanism.

12 General Settings Right click the built-in to access the wizard. Notice new options in the left column, including Schedule/Time and Password. To open the S-BUS Wall Module Configuration Wizard, right click on the S Bus Wall Module Block, then click on Configure Properties. The S-Bus Wall Module Configuration window opens to the General Settings. The Configuration Wizard options for Zio display in the left pane. The first step in setup is General Settings, where you name the function block and choose the wall module type. Then set the wall module address: For TR70s only one TR70 can exist on a Sylk bus at a time, and the address for the TR70 must be set to 1. For TR71 or TR75 models, addresses 1 through 10 are allowed. Keep in mind that a 10 in the Configuration Wizard is equal to a setting of 0 on Zio wall module address dial. So if the Zio is set to 0, set the address to 10 in the Configuration Wizard. The address must be different for each device on the Sylk bus. Next choose the time format to display at the Zio. An image of the selected model and its capabilities displays at the bottom of the window. You are done with General Settings. You can go through the configuration in order of the menu, or skip around. It is not necessary to make changes in every window. At any time, use the preview button at the bottom to see how your wall module will appear and operate.

13 Zio Parameter Screens Network parameters can be configured in the Configuration Wizard View and change parameters at Zio Parameters may include virtually any point in the controller. Sample parameter screens setup in the Configuration Wizard in the WEBs-AX Workbench: The Zio allows for access to predefined network parameters that are configured in the Configuration Wizard and uploaded to Zio. These parameters can be set up to be viewed and/or changed at Zio. You can configure parameters for contractor only or contractor and tenant viewing and/or editing. Virtually any point in the controller can be defined as a parameter. Some sample parameter screens are shown here. Parameters are grouped into categories. For instance, you could set up a category called setpoints, another called sensors, and another called balancing. Then you can add parameters to these categories. When navigating to parameters, you first choose the category, then press EDIT to view or adjust the parameters in this category.

14 Categories and Parameters
Use Categories and Parameters tab to set these up. Memory has been greatly expanded for these parameters in the TR71 and TR75. The categories and parameters tab allows you to create, edit, and delete categories and parameters for access from Zio. Adding additional parameters is optional, but provides substantial convenience in many applications. Shown here is the parameter ROOMTEMP in the category SENSORS. You can add parameters to the SENSORS category, or add new categories with new parameters. There are some limits to the number of parameters that can be set up. The limit guidelines are listed in the operating guide. There is also a total memory usage limit which can be checked at any time by clicking on the Memory Usage Details button in the left pane. Memory usage should not exceed 100%.

15 Categories and Parameters
Click to add a parameter or category, and click EDIT to customize. Any screen showing this parameter can be customized by highlighted the pre-defined fields in the green screen at the lower right. Press EDIT to edit a parameter, in this case ROOMTEMP. A representation of the Zio display appears in the lower right showing the different labels that you can select to display on the screen. These segments will be highlighted whenever the parameter is viewed on the Zio. You can also select the number of decimal places, the default sensor offset (typically left at zero), and the units type. Temperature units are not shown on the LCD display. On this screen, you can also select whether you want the parameter to be viewable or editable by the tenant in the View More screen.

16 Categories and Parameters
Enter a name and an optional description, then choose the parameter type. The parameter type choices are: Controller Value, Value from Wall Module, Network Setpoint, Temperature or Humidity from wall module, Sensor Offset, or Time. CO2 from Wall Module is not available at this time. Controller Values are inputs from the controller, and cannot be changed at the wall module (like outdoor air temperature). These take up less memory than Network Setpoints. Values from wall module are items like temperature setpoint. Network Setpoints are any network variables that you plan to both view and adjust in the controller from the wall modules. Depending on the parameter type, there are different setting options available, such as enumerated values for enumerating points, hi / low limits, etc. See the operating guide for more information.

17 Zio Customizable Home Screens
Multiple home screens can be saved to Zio with one set as the default From the Home screen, the Tenant can Change the setpoint, fan speed and/or initiate override, if configured View or view/change other parameters using the View More key if desired, if configured Some sample home screens shown below: The Zio has many customizable home screen options. You can customize home screens in the Configuration Wizard, lighting up the fixed segments that are available on the display as you desire. Up to three numerical values can be shown at a time. Some examples are shown here. Fan, Override, and View More are soft key options you can choose or not choose. If you prefer a very simple display, like temperature only, this can be done too as shown in lower right. Soft keys disappear if not chosen for use. In addition to View More, the right softkey also doubles as a SYSTEM key. Though not shown here, this allows the user to use this wall module like a room thermostat, setting the system for HEAT, COOL, AUTO, etc. Mix and match options for the home screen as desired

18 Home Screen Options Home screens can be customize, and multiple home screens can be set up so that they can be later selected at the wall module without needing to go into the tool again. From the Home Screen Options in the Configuration Wizard, you can view and configure different Zio home screens. You can create a home screen by pressing ADD, or click on the Edit button to modify existing home screens. The home screens can be viewed at the Zio. The home screen selected as the default will be displayed. To view other homes screens at Zio, press the Next softkey. You can set the default home screen by pressing Set as Default in the Add/Edit mode or by highlighting the desired home screen and clicking on the up arrow button to the right of the list of home screens until the home screen is the first on the list. The word Default displays in parentheses after the home screen name.

19 Home Screen Options The drop down fields in the green screen allow you to choose which parameter values you want to show in the home screen. Highlight the black segment fields as desired. Clicking the Add or Edit button displays the Details pane below the Home screen options tree. You use the Details pane to create or change a Home screen: • The Option Name item allows you to enter a 1 to 32 character description that displays in the Home Screen Options Available list. • The Set as Default selection, if clicked, causes this Home screen to be the initial Home screen for the wall module (after the configuration is downloaded to the wall module). • The Description text you enter allows more information to be entered on the home screen and will be loaded to the controller but cannot be previewed. • Use the Option Type selection to choose either single or multiple (1 to 3) parameters to display on the Home screen. • For the Single Parameter option type, there is an option to display a custom label up to 8 characters in length. • In the lower right of the window, in the green area, you select the desired Home screen labels for the wall module. The number of parameters allowed (1-3) is based on your Option Type selection. When you are done adding or editing the Home Screen click on the Save button. The Configuration Wizard then switches to the preview mode so you can see how the Home Screen will display at the Zio.

20 Occupancy and Override
Customize the occupancy and override in this tab. The valid states chosen will show up when the user presses the override button on Zio. From the Occupany and Override screen, you can customize the override features available at the wall module. The view show has Advanced setting selected to show additional options available. Choose “Enable Occupancy Override” if you want override. If this is not chosen, then the override softkey will not appear in the Zio Wall Module. There is an override to occupied (most commonly used), override to unoccupied, and override to standby. One, two, or all three can be enabled. If more than one is enabled, then the user will be offered a NEXT key in order to choose the override they wish at the wall module. You can also define what shows at Zio in the Occupancy Status Display Options. Selecting ‘Show effective occupancy status’ will display the actual occupancy status taking into account the Sypder configuration. Selecting ‘Occupancy override status’ will display the occupancy override status initiated from the LCD, independent of Spyder configuration. Selecting ‘Do not show occupancy or override status’ means that Zio does not show occupancy or override, regardless of what the user initiates and Sypder configuration.

21 Occupancy and Override
Clicking settings will allow you to choose the network bypass time, or customize the time period yourself. When a user presses override, they will see the minimum time first, and they can increment up to the maximum override time if desired. If Occupancy Override is enabled, clicking on the Settings button next to each allow occupancy option to establish rules around the override – whether it will be continuous, set in hours, or in days. Time or hours can be configured to any value 0 to 255. For the timed override, the network bypass time can be chosen, or it can be customized with a minimum and maximum override time. If setting a min/max override time, the tenant, when pressing override, will be given the option to change the amount of override time, within the configured limits set here. To conserve Zio memory, we recommend choosing the same Override Type and Timed Override Details for Occupied, Unoccupied and Standby if used.

22 Fan Command New in the fan command is the ability to designate the fan command as a network setpoint, allowing it to be pulled up into a graphic for easy access. This feature is not available on the TR70. The Fan Command screen with Advanced Setting showing, allows for the adjustment of the fan type, either 2, 3, or 5 state fan as shown. The TR71/TR75 has the Set as Network Setpoint checkbox allowing the fan command to be configured as a network setpoint. This option is not available on the TR70. The default Fan Command option is: 2 State (On / Auto). The default for the Fan State is selectable if Zio is commanding the fan. If the fan command is a network setpoint, then the default value is set on the controller's network setpoint. The Fan command button is not available in the Contractor mode. When the tenant presses the fan softkey at Zio, they will toggle through the various fan choices.

23 System Status and Command
The system command can also now be set up as a network setpoint, like the fan command. Clicking Show System Status brings up the system modes on the top of the screen, as shown below. From the System Status and Command window, with Advances Settings displayed, Zio can be used to choose the system mode (whether heat, cool, auto, etc.), like a thermostat, and also show the system status (heat on or cool on). Clicking the Show System Status box enables the System Status line including the snowflake (cool) and flame (heat) icons and the System softkey on Zio. The System softkey on Zio is enabled only when the Enable System Command option is selected. The Enable System Command selections control the values that display on the System Status line at the top of Zio’s screen. For TR71/TR75s click on the System Command checkbox to allow the System Command to be configured as a network setpoint. The default System Command option is: Off / Heat (Heat Only). The System commands are selectable. The System command value cannot be changed from Zio in the Contractor mode.

24 System Status and Command
Right click the built-in to access the wizard. Notice new options in the left column, including Schedule/Time and Password. You can choose among the different system mode options as shown. The appropriate segments will be shown highlighted at the top of the Zio display as shown here. By pressing the system softkey, the user can choose the system mode if the Enable System Command option is checked.

25 Memory Usage Window Click the memory usage button at lower left to access memory allocation. Exactly what resides in files A, B, C, and tips for helping reduce memory if needed, are available in the Help menu – just click Help. All fields must be below 100% before attempting to download. The wall module has a fixed amount of memory available for configuration data. The TR70 has 1,020 bytes of memory, the TR71 has 2,000 bytes of memory, and the TR75 has 4,950 bytes of memory. To view the current memory use information click on the Memory Usage Details button. This windows displays a bar graph indicating the percentage of current memory used in each memory category and a list of each memory category with percent of space used in the lower section of the window. Each of the memory categories, including the Total File Size, should be below 100%. For a single Zio memory usage must be equal to or less than 100% in order to download the configuration to Spyder. If using multiple Zios, you should also check the Spyder Resource usage. Total Zio memory use on any given Sylk bus is limited to 5K bytes on Spyder. Use this tool as a guide when memory is limited and you need to make choices about the parameters you have set up. Click on the Help Button to view the online help in the WEBs-AX Workbench to see tips for reducing memory usage in the TR70 Series if memory usage in any category is above 100%.

26 Schedule/Time The Zio Plus TR75 provides access to the Spyder schedule. Choose the options you want in this tab. If multiple TR75s are used on the same Sylk bus, use the same schedule display for all TR75s (8 day, etc). The Schedule/Time window provides options for setting view and edit options for Spyder time and Spyder schedules allowed from Zio. The TR75 can provide access to the Spyder Schedule. The Schedule/Time options are not available for use with the TR70/TR71. We recommend setting the time in Spyder before configuring the Schedule/Time in the configuration tool. Note that setting an invalid time at Zio will cause Spyder to set the time to invalid. You also have the ability to configure how the Spyder schedule will display at the TR75: 8 day schedule, 7 day schedule, day schedule, or the 5-2 schedule. If using the or 5-2 day schedule, you should configure the Spyder for the same schedule. If multiple Zios are used on the same Sylk bus, we recommended using the same schedule display option for all Zios.

27 Password The TR71 and TR75 now also offer password protection. Enable and choose a password in this tab. Warning: If a password is forgotten, the only way to access the password is by reconnecting the Spyder tool to access this screen. The TR71/TR75 can be configured with a password that limits access to contractor mode from the TR71/TR75. The password option is not available for the TR70. The password can be assigned an eight character label that is displayed at the TR71/TR75 and a four digit password from 0000 to 9999. All TR71/TR75s on the same Sylk bus can have the same or unique passwords. If the password option is enabled and the password is forgotten, it can be retrieved through the WEBs-AX Workbench in the Configuration Wizard.

28 Preview – Tenant View or
Preview allows you to simulate the Zio interface before downloading, a great way to make sure it is configured as you expect. You can view both the tenant mode and the contractor mode. Tenant view or Preview is a great way to verify all your configuration and setup parameters to ensure that they work exactly the way you want them to function. At any time, as you customize your Zio, you can click on the Preview button to see how it will actually appear and operate on Zio. Because Preview simulates the Zio interface it allows you to verify the operation of the current configuration. Clicking on the three softkey rectangles below the labels of the preview display exercises the features you have configured. Since the up and down arrow keys do not display in Preview mode, no adjustments to parameters (e.g setpoint temperature) can be made. You can view both the Tenant mode and the Contractor mode. This screenshot shows the Tenant View, which is selected near the top of the window. Contractor view

29 Finish Zio Configuration
Verify configuration in Preview window Check memory usage Click Finish To complete configuration, Verify that the Zio configuration is as you intended by using the Preview window in both Tenant and Contractor modes. Confirm that Zio is within the memory usage limits by clicking on the Memory Usage Details button in the left pane. Each of the memory categories should be below 100%. Click the Finish button to commit all your changes to the database, close the Configuration Wizard, and return to the wire sheet. See Spyder documentation for information on Spyder programming and next steps.

30 Access Zio Contractor Mode
Accessing Contractor Mode at the Zio Enter and exit the contractor mode by pressing Up, Down, and Middle softkey, then enter the password if password protected In the contractor mode, you can choose the home screen, select parameter access to tenant (Yes or No as desired), and view/change parameters. Parameters may include virtually any point in the controller. Contractor mode screens with parameter access Once the Zio is fully programmed, you can access contractor mode by pressing the up, down, and middle softkey at the same time. If password protection option is enabled you will be prompted to enter a four digit password. In this mode, the contractor can choose among the various home screens that were set up and uploaded from the Wizard. They can also choose to allow tenants access to other parameters. And the contractor has full access to view or change these parameters. Some sample parameter screens are shown here that were set up in the Configuration Wizard.

31 Scheduling at the Zio Wall Module
The Spyder schedule is easily accessible on the Zio Plus TR75 Wall Module You can access either in the tenant mode (if unrestricted) and/or contractor mode. Set each daily time period or event (labeled E1-E4) to occupied, unoccupied, or standby, each with it’s own start time. The Zio Plus gives you access to the Schedule that resides in the Spyder. Access to the network schedule from the Zio is not currently supported. Accessing and changing the schedule in the Zio is simple and intuitive. Like other parameters, the schedule can be found by pressing the “view more” key until Schedule appears. The “edit’ key will drop you into lower menu levels, and the “next” key will toggle through the options in each menu. There are four events per day, labeled E1 through E4, and each can be scheduled for occupied, unoccupied, or standby, and each with it’s own start time. The “Done” key will step you back up in the menu structure. Access to the network schedule is not currently supported.
