This alarming figure speaks to the idea that because so many domestic cats are obese or overweight, it has clearly become an acceptable characteristic of a pet owner’s fuzzy companion. According to webMD.com “the main reason for feline obesity is the consumption of too much food”(2010). We cannot blame our pets for over eating because domestic cats do not feed themselves.
