INTER-REGIONAL COORDINATION COMMITTEE (IRCC8)
ANNUAL REPORT 2015

2. IRCC Objectives
Establish, coordinate and enhance cooperation in hydrographic activities amongst States on a regional basis, and between regions;
Establish co-operation to enhance the delivery of capacity building programs;
Monitor the work of specified IHO Inter- Organizational Bodies engaged in activities that require inter-regional cooperation and coordination;
Promote co-operation between pertinent regional organizations and review and implement the IHO Capacity Building Strategy, promoting Capacity Building initiatives

3. Coordination of RHC Activities
Baltic Sea HC - Reviewed on-going regional initiatives eg. Re-Survey, MSDI and Chart Datum.
EAHC - Brunei Darussalam and Vietnam members of IHO.
Meso American – Caribbean Sea HC – Significant progress in ENC coverage.
Mediterranean and Black Seas HC – EU funded projects EMODnet and Coastal Mapping
South West Pacific HC – Development and Use of GIS-based risk assessment methodolgy

4. WEND
Monitor RENC harmonisation activities relating to technical and distribution issues (Sub-Group disbanded)
Continuing Re-development of IHO ENC Catalogue
No need to further amend or enhance existing WEND Principles and Guidelines.

5. Capacity Building Reviewed Impact of IHO CB Strategy approved b EIHC-5
Increased Interaction with WWNWS-SC, MSDIWG and TWCWG
Reviewed and Approved CB Management Plan

6. IBSC Noted increased in Workload due to higher number of Submissions
Acknowledged Limitation at IHO Secretariat to support Administration of IBSC programme. Impact to be monitored

Commence Development of 2015 to 2016 Work Plan
Discussed Outreach and Ways to Raise Profile of GEBCO project
Recognise that Crowd-Sourced Bathymetry would also be Important Source of Shallow Water Data.

11. Conclusion Productive Outcome from RHCs, Sub-Committees and Work Group
Continue with Close Coordination and Cooperation among Stakeholders
Need to Prepare Report for forthcoming Conference / Assembly
