2. OVERVIEW
The PPR test of the TExES will consist of approximately 90 questions.
80 questions will be scored and be distributed about evenly across the 13 competencies.
The test is designed to take less that 2.5 hours; however, it may be possible for you to use the entire 5 hour testing period, if needed.

3. TYPES OF QUESTIONS Single question items
Cluster question items (using involving two or three questions connected to the same scenario)
Teacher Decision Sets (a series of questions following a scenario through various stages)

As you analyze questions you will notice words and phrases that are related to competencies in that they reflect important ideas and concepts that the State of Texas wants you to utilize while teaching.

6. TEXAS PROCEDURE FOR ANSWERING TEST QUESTIONS
T – Take Control.
E – Examine the question
X – X-ray the choices.
A – Assimilate knowledge
S – Structure your decision

7. QUESTION PRACTICE Directions:
Work in groups of four to complete the competency questions you are assigned
Group 1: 1, 6, 13
Group 2: 2, 8, 12
Group 3: 3, 7, 11
Group 4 4, 10
Group 5: 5, 9
Analyze the questions using the TEXAS procedure and word choice strategies
Be prepared to share your answers and an explanation as to why you chose that answer
