Parody – A humours imitation of an existing story or work of art.

3 Characteristics of a Parody
1) It is meant to ridicule/mock an original. 2) The ridiculous points of the original are exaggerated. 3) the persuasive points of the original lack content. 4) It is supposed to be subjectively funny Characteristics of a Parody

4 Fractured Fairy Tales When authors modernize or change one or more of the elements of the story, the story is called a fractured fairy tale.

5 So What is the Difference?
Fractured fairy tales are closely related to fairy‐tale parodies, but the two serve different purposes: parodies mock individual tales and the genre as a whole fractured fairy tales, with a reforming intent, seek to impart updated social and moral messages.
