Commissioning a Service for South Tyneside for 2016 and Beyond

2 Out of Hours Services If you urgently need to speak to, or see, a General Practitioner when your usual practice is shut (weekday evenings to and weekends Friday to Monday 08.00) The answer phone message at your usual practice directs the caller to ring NHS111 (provided by North East Ambulance Service)

3 Current Out of Hours Service Model
Access through NHS 111 service Telephone Assessment by GPs-Northern Doctors Urgent Care (NDUC) Centre Visiting - GPs (NDUC) seeing patients at South Tyneside Hospital Home Visiting- GPs (NDUC) NDUC Extended Services, e.g. paramedic support
