Synthesis, Structural Determination, and Physicochemical Property Studies of Novel
Coordination Polymers Incorporating Kinked and Hydrogen-Bonding Capable Bifunctional Organodiimines Robert L. LaDuca Lyman Briggs College, Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI 48825 Hydrogen-bonding capable dipyridyl tethering ligands have afforded divalent metal dicarboxylate coordination polymers with novel topologies {[Cu2(phthalate)2(dpa)]•H2O}n {[Cd(phthalate)(dpa)(H2O)]•4H2O}n 3-fold interpenetration of regular (12,3) self-penetrated sublattices, connection through phthalate affords 4-connected chiral self-penetrated yyz net (7482 topology) homochiral septuple [Cu2O2(dpa)]n 6-fold helices with weak ferromagnetic coupling
