3. Summary
“Raymond Run” is Tony Cade Bambara short story about a young girl named Hazel Elizabeth Deborah Parker and her brother Raymond. Hazel has a couple of nick names, including squeaky, because she has a squeaky , and mercury , because she is fast like quicksilver when she runs. In the first person point of view , hazel dictates quite a bit of information about herself ,her neighborhood , her brother , and other children as she walks down the street with her brother , Raymond. She is six years old and she love to run . In fact , she takes her running very seriously and pride herself in being the fastest runner in her age group and in her neighborhood. She admits , however, that her father is the one person who is faster than she is, although, she says that is a secret.

4. PLOT Exposition:
Here we find out squeaky is a fast runner, we meet her mentality challenged brother and get Background on how raymond lives his life and how people usually treat him.

5. Rising Action
Here we have the stroll between Raymond and squeaky. Also conflict between hazel and gretchen , and Raymond settled into the swing before the race

6. Climax
Here Hazel runs the race and win it . Hazel said:if I have lost the race , or if me and gretchen tied , or even if I have won , I can always retire as a runner and begin a whole new career as a coach with Raymond as my champion .

7. Falling action
Here Hazel was anounced as a winner only.

8. Denouement
Gretchen and hazel smile at each other, and hazel says: We stand their with this big smile of respect between us.
