Foot-long paddle-shaped leaves that are on 1-2 foot stalks
Dramatic orange, blue, and white crested flowers emerge from a beak-shaped bud atop a tall stalk

3. Marigold
Tagetes species cv.
Bushy, erect, free-branching, annual which is found in several varieties
Finely-divided, almost fern-like, strongly scented, pinnate, mid-dark green leaves
Flowers heads are daisy-like to carnation-style
Colors – cream, pale, yellow, gold, orange, bronze, mahogany, bi-colors

4. Pickaback Plant Tolmiea menziesii Compact, mounded, clump-forming
Basal, long stalked, shallow lobed, toothed, hairy, triangular shaped, bright, mid-green, 5 inch leaves
Young plantelets are produced at the junction of the parent leaf and its stalk
