2 -ic -al -ac These terminals mean “pertaining to” when attached to a root or a combination of elements. EX: cardiac-pertaining to the heart

3 -ical A combination of –ic and –al but carries the same meaning “pertaining to” EX: mathematical = pertaining to math

4 -y Noun ending The act of or reacting to a condition
EX: inquiry = the act or result of asking questions

5 -ia An unhealthy state or condition of
EX: leukemia = a condition of the white cells

6 -um Noun ending Used to form the name of a thing from the root
EX: addendum = something added

7 -is Noun ending Used to form a name of something from the root
EX: dermis = the skin
