2 Lab – Shapes of Molecules
Procedure: Determine the central atom (i.e. atom with the most bonding electrons). Draw the Lewis Diagram (Electron Dot). If there exists two central atoms, draw a symmetric molecule. Analyze one central atom to determine the shape of the molecule. Construct the molecule, using the ball and stick model kits provided. Draw a 3-D picture to represent the shape.
