What is the name of this data? What does this data actually measure? How does this apply to your question? What trends do you see in the data that apply to your question? How well does this data support your answer? Does any part of this data make you doubt your answer?

Six Questions for Data 1 What is the name of this data?
Dow Jones Industrial Average What does this data actually measure? The average stock prices of 30 major companies adjusted by a multiplier How does this apply to your question? It demonstrates the value of major US conglomerates What trends do you see in the data that apply to your question? It has shown a generally upward trend both since 1988 and since 2010 How well does this data support your answer? If saying the US econ is getting stronger, this data confirms that is true for major conglomerates—which are a sizeable part of the economy. Does any part of this data make you doubt your answer? A long period from about showed no real growth. Also, this data looks only at a small part of the economy. Also, the Dow is not adjusted for inflation.

Real Median Household Income What does this data actually measure? The median average of income for an American family, adjusted for inflation. How does this apply to your question? It demonstrates how well average Americans and the middle class are doing What trends do you see in the data that apply to your question? It is slightly up from its 1985 position but has declined considerably since 1999 How well does this data support your answer? If saying the US econ is getting stronger, there has been a slight gain since 1985. Does any part of this data make you doubt your answer? A decline in the last 10 years makes it difficult to argue the economy is getting stronger in terms of average Americans and the middle class.
