League of Nations- group of countries that would use diplomacy (peaceful discussion) to solve problems.
Self-Determination- belief that a nation or people should have the right to have a voice in their government.

3. Balfour Declaration
During WWI allies promised Arabs land that included Palestine
Allies also promised land to Zionist’s which included Palestine in the Balfour Declaration in 1917….
Both groups tried to claim the land…. Is this still a problem?

4. Arab Nationalism
Arabs from all over the Ottoman Empire helped the Allies during WWI
In return they were promised independence
Great Britain and France set- up Mandates in these areas
