Mutual exchange flowchart
Fill in and return your form to us at Raven House, 29 Linkfield Lane, Redhill, Surrey, RH1 1SS (or hand in to a member of staff at Marbles Way or any of our help shops). Remember: You cannot exchange to a property where you will be overcrowded. If you apply to move to a property larger than you need, your application could be turned down, depending on your circumstances. Contact our Tenancy Services Team for more information. Your rent account must be clear before you exchange. If you have any outstanding arrears, the exchange will not be able to go ahead. If you want to keep pets in the property you want to move to, you must get permission from us to do so before you exchange Please be aware that completing the mutual exchange disclaimer form will mean that you accept the property as it is and Raven will only carry out the agreed repairs. Any changes or damage caused by the previous tenants will become your responsibility to put right. Once we receive completed forms from all applicants, we will tell you within 42 days whether or not the exchange can go ahead. This gives us time to get references and carry out some checks. This does not mean that the exchange will happen within 42 days. Don’t book your removals van without speaking to us first! Once we have received your form, and have given ‘in principle’ approval, we will write to you with: dates for checks and survey some paperwork that you will need to sign in preparation for your move a proposed date for moving. When this is confirmed (after the checks and surveys have been confirmed as satisfactory) you can book your removals van. If you are assessed as not being able to exchange, we will write to you to explain why. If we find a problem when we carry out the checks and survey, we will arrange for the repair work to be carried out. These may be rechargeable to the responsible tenant. All tenancy holders will need to be present on the day of your exchange to sign the deed of assignment.
