3. MODERNIZATION
Since 2012, INE started with a modernization initiative to improve statistical production processes. This is aligned with global issues such as Data Revolution, Big data, Open Data as well as regional and national initiatives.
Holistic approach involving people, processes and technology
GSBPM as the basis for the modernization and adoption of standards
Final goal is to satisfy user needs

TRAINING
National statistical school was created to train statisticians primarily for the National Statistical System
Short term courses for INE staff and managers
Contribute to the reduction of turnover

5. CHALLENGES Main challenges include: Statistical act has to be updated
Monitoring of the SDGs (which indicators the country is able to produce)
Power IT to reduce costs, improve data quality, exchange data and metadata
Macroeconomic scenario (growth in the extractive and manufacturing industries such as oil, gas, energy, natural resources and mines.
Strengthen cooperation
Improve studies, researches including poverty assessment
Reinforcement of the civil registry program
Transformation of the statistical school to be high level school
