Photosynthesis -Photosynthesis is process in which sunlight is converted into chemical energy in carbohydrate molecules 6 H2O + 6 CO2 C6H12O2 + 6 O2 -this happens within chloroplasts and specifically, inside the thylakoid membrane (light dependent reactions) and stroma (light independent reactions)
2
Photosynthesis -during the light DEPENDENT reactions, water is transformed and light energy helps to create ATP along with NADPH + H+ and O2 (oxygen gas)
3
Photosynthesis -during light INDPENDENT reactions (also known as the Calvin Cycle) in the stroma, carbon dioxide, ATP, and NADPH + H+ come together to ultimately produce sugar -NADP+ and ADP are a byproduct

Photosynthesis In-Depth
Directions: Answer the following questions based on your notes: 1. What are the products of light DEPENDENT reactions? 2. Where do these light DEPENDENT reactions occur? 3. Where do the products of light DEPENDENT reactions go? 4. What are the products of light INDEPENDENT reactions? 5. Where do these light INDEPENDENT reactions occur? 6. Where do the products of light INDEPENDENT reactions go? 7. What are light INDEPENDENT reactions also known as?
