Round Table on e-government A round table will be held on 14 September and 29 October. Each participant has the opportunity to highlight current e-government developments in his country (5 minutes for each presentation). E-government in Portugal Actual policy / main targets Reengeneering of the most important processes for the citizen and enterprises Upgrading the quality of eGov services in the different Departments Expanding the Broadband Initiative to the Public Administration Most important building blocks/ implementation strategy Portuguese Government: Citizen Portal National Public Procurement: 6 Pilots with e-marketplaces Central Interoperability Framework: Autentication/e-Services/e-Payments National Broadband Initiative Municipalities: Regiões e Cidades Digitais Program Main achievements Citizen Portal: more tham 700 services online. New transactional services, after reengeneering, 20 processes until the end of 2005. Central Interoperability: Total implementaion until the end of 2006 National Broadband Initiative: 2600 Internet Public Access Points; e-U Programme (Virtual Campus – 4500 Wi-Fi access points in the Universities); 9000 schools with Internet access until the end of 2005) Knowledge Library on line: 3500 scientific magazines for the academic world 13/14 September E-government Working Group
