1 Warm Up: Read & Annotate the Poems
Phones in the pocket folder please. Today you will be taking your SLO test. It’s over three poems. It will count as a TEST GRADE. There will be no redemption as this is the second time you’re taking the test. Please try your best. While there is no redemption, I will be giving extra points for thorough annotations. Remember your PITT! Theme/ controlling idea Things to annotate/ notice in “Did I Miss Anything” Author’s purpose Things to annotate/ notice in “Out Out” Tone personification Characterization Theme Imagery Things to annotate/ notice in “Dog’s Death” Irony – if you don’t know this term, look it up! Alliteration Connotes

2 SLO Test Now I will read each poem out loud. Then you will take your test. FYI… The most missed questions on the test last time were: 2, 4, 8, 11, 12, 15, 16 & 17 (Note: 16 & 17 are kind of dumb) Take your time. Use the dictionary. If you have questions, ask me. When you finish, read your book and/ or work on blog entry #2 which is due on Wednesday!
