CLASSROOM RULES Bring all necessary materials to class.
No gum, food, or drink allowed. Remain seated, unless authorized to move about the classroom Profanity Free Zone Be respectful of others and their belongings
22
PROFESSIONALISM POINTS
The upside: Many of my students have behaved responsibly and deserve some recognition. Therefore, I have decided to include professionalism points as a grading factor equal to 20% of your grade. Completing homework on time can add to your professionalism points. Not completing it on time can reduce your points. Raising your hand to answer a question can add to your professionalism points.
23
PROFESSIONALISM POINTS
The downside: Shouting out an answer without raising your hand can cost you a point. Coming in tardy can cost you a point. Profanity can cost you a point and result in firmer consequences.
24
Progressive Consequences
For the first couple of weeks will we model appropriate procedures, thereafter, it will be up to you as responsible individuals to adhere to our classroom rules and standards.
25
Progressive Consequences
First infraction: verbal warning Second infraction: stay after class Third infraction: tutorial detention with written essay to be signed by a parent Fourth infraction: parent/teacher teleconference Fifth infraction: Dean referral
