ISRO Capacity Building Initiatives
Educational Dashboard – “SWAMI” System for Weather and Apadaa Management Information APRSAF (November 14-17, 2017), Bangalore ACRS 2017 October 23-27, 2017, New Delhi Space Technology for Enhanced Governance & Development Space applications: touching human lives. Co-presented by ISRO, MEXT & JAXA Attended by 539 participants from 31 countries and regions, and ten international organizations, including 6-heads of space agencies and 3-deputy heads in Asian-Pacific countries as well as high-level officials from governmental institutions 4 working groups (Space Applications, Space Technology, Space Environment Utilization, Space Education) discussed cooperative activities to solve societal issues in the Asia-Pacific region, which focused on the advancement of space technology in the region Jointly organized by Asian association on Remote Sensing (AARS), Indian Society of Remote Sensing (ISRS) and Indian Society of Geomatics (ISG) and Co-hosted by ISRO. Over 900 participants from 53 countries across the globe attended the conference. Total 6 plenary sessions, 13 special sessions, 67 technical sessions and 6 poster sessions were organized in the conference. World Space Week Oct , 2017), nationalwide Visualization of Earth Data and Archival System (VEDAS) Mandate: Research and training of Academic faculty and students in the field of Earth-ecosystem processes using VEDAS and other related datasets. Vision: Development of Earth-ecosystems research expertise using Indian satellite data and products. Mission: Capacity building of students, young researchers and academia on the geospatial tools and techniques with VEDAS products and Indian satellite data. Exploring New Worlds in Space Celebrated by ISRO across the country by various Centres of ISRO Thiruvananthapuram (1,00,000 people including students from more than 170 Government schools.) Ahmedabad, Delhi, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh (15,000 visitors of all age-groups). NRSC at his regional centers (4,19,536 students/general public across).
