1 WAIT UPON THE LORD Isaiah 40:31

2 INTRODUCTION The feeling that we are accomplishing nothing.
B. Waiting upon the Lord to achieve the desired goal. C. Today’s sermon. How do you wait upon the Lord? A. Illustration: A little boy was fishing but was catching nothing. A man came by and asked him, are you fishing little boy? He replied back, “No I am not fishing, I am just drowning worms”.) B. Waiting on God vs. Man. We need more patience and faith to wait on God than to wait on man. But man cannot be trusted. God is always faithful. C. To wait upon the Lord doesn’t mean to be passive. There are three things we should do while we wait on Him.

3 1. TRUST GOD AND GOD ALONE God as the “go to” person in every situation. B. Prayer as the first response. Not a last resort. C. Seeking help but without depending on man. God should be our one and only source of hope. Not people or strategies of our own. B. Don’t pray only when everything else fails. Prayer should be the first response to any incident. C. It’s not wrong to seek help from people. But don’t depend on people.

4 2. BE ALONE WITH GOD The Holy Spirit repairs us in our time alone with God. B. Helps us to focus on the solution instead of the problem. C. Clears our thinking, so that we can make right decisions. A. Just like the physical body repairs itself when we sleep, the Holy Spirit repairs the soul when we take leave to be alone with God. B. Majority of the time we focus on the problem. In our lonely time the Holy Spirit teaches us to focus on the solution instead. C. Problems cloud our judgment. When we take time to be alone with God the Holy Spirit clears our thoughts giving us the ability to think carefully and make wise decisions.

5 3. SURRENDER YOURSELF TO GOD
God is sovereign. (Superior to all, Supreme in power) God is not irresponsible. Brings the best out of anything. C. Learn to discern God’s movement in your problems. Don’t feel despaired if God doesn’t answer your prayers. Continue to pray. One of these 03 things will happen. (I) God will answer your prayer in the right time (II) You will know that your prayer is not in line with God’s will (III) and God will open another door. Unlike man, God doesn’t abuse His power. God doesn’t make mistakes. He knows what’s best for us. We should train ourselves in God’s word, so that we will be able to see God’s arm and hear his voice even in times of calamity.

6 CONCLUSION A. God promised to not leave us or forsake us.
B. We wait not by sight, but by faith. C. Wait upon the Lord and you will once again soar like an Eagle. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.“ Deuteronomy 3:16 Don’t permit your sight to try your faith and patience. Wait upon the Lord until you see your deliverance, and you will rise above your problem.
