Describe the theory of endosymbiosis. Ensure to discuss: (a) how endosymbiosis plays a role in the evolution of prokaryotes to eukaryotes, (b) how mitochondria are important to this evolution, and (c) how the theory helps explain the complexity of cells. Also include what “endo” and “symbiosis” mean.
Describe the similarities and differences between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. Discuss the following: (1) which structures are found in only prokaryotic cells, only eukaryotic cells and both cells, (2) which structure is easily identifiable in a eukaryotic cell, (3) which structures are found in only plant cells, and not animal cells.
